Home Advisor Q&A
Q:
I paid up front for a service. How do I know who I hired and if the service will be carried out. I have no phone number for contact.
You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up

Hello, Home Advisor only seeks contractors that have ' paid into ' their business. In other words, they may skip over a dozen reputable contractors until they find one that has an account with Home Advisor and has paid their annual dues. You will know the name of the name of the company via a phone call or email before they arrive. The contractor is not allowed to give you an estimate while at your home either. They will call/contact Home Advisor usually the following day to discuss a quote. To me, this is a waste of time and too secretive. I personally want a quote standing in my own home. Ensure you have a contact name of the technician/plumber ect that is coming to your home as well. My advice, do your ' homework' on what the national average costs are associated with the work you wish to be completed. You should have an estimate in mind before Home Advisor gives you their quote. You can get your $$ back too if you request it.

Q:
Hmm.. Home Advisor is now allowing free business profiles. But they have horrible ratings. Whats going on? Do I want to do that as a business owner?
Homeadvisor is the worse. I own a business and would never be affiliated with them

I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.

Q:
how much do you charge per lead? If you receive a lead that want service you don't provide do you get a refund and if yes, how long does the refund ta
Leads are anywhere from 30-90$. The leads may not actually be leads. I just suspended our account as they will not give you credit for their bogus leads. They have scammed us out of 100s of dollars. Go with Angie's List, most of our leads come from there anyways! Or else say that money and invest in advertising on Facebook and Nextdoor.

Possibly your website. She might be lying to get you to sign up.

If you posted about your business online (even social media) they will harass you! We never signed up for them either and they won't stop calling. Now, they even pretend to be someone looking for a contractor and use something that you have listed as one of your services. They pretend that someone told them about your business. It's ridiculous.
